The Justice on Earth Women Jurists Platform was established in 2021 with the purpose of collecting evidence and documenting violations of children’s rights in our country and in oppressed geographies, creating an archive, and pursuing accountability of perpetrators through national and international mechanisms within the framework of law. The Platform further aims to raise global awareness on this matter.
In accordance with international law and international humanitarian law, despite the fact that the occupying power Israel is a party to numerous international treaties (such as the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention against Torture, and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination), innocent children in Palestine continue to suffer the gravest harm—physically, mentally, psychologically, and spiritually. The provisions of these treaties, lacking effective enforcement mechanisms, have failed to prevent the acts of genocide amounting to ethnic cleansing, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and deaths from starvation perpetrated by the Zionist Israeli regime against Palestinian children in Gaza before the eyes of the world.
This Report has been prepared with the aim of identifying, assessing, and submitting to the relevant judicial authorities the acts constituting genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes systematically committed by the Israeli occupation regime through disproportionate and unlawful use of force over many years. It further seeks to raise legal awareness on these issues and to share the findings with the public. In this way, the Report intends to bring to international attention the suffering, trauma, and victimization endured by Palestinian children subjected to grave human rights violations, genocide, and its most severe form—ethnic cleansing—while also mobilizing international mechanisms to address these violations.
The unconditional continuation of military, diplomatic, and economic support by the United States and European countries to terrorist Israel renders them complicit in the crimes committed by Israel. International legal mechanisms have proven ineffective and inadequate in responding to the crimes committed in Gaza and throughout the occupied territories of Palestine, thereby losing legitimacy. It has
been universally acknowledged that there is a need for a more just system—one in which “the strong are not deemed right, but the rightful are strong.”
This Report has been prepared by the Justice on Earth Women Jurists Platform, composed of jurists engaged in the field of international law and sensitive to the atrocities, massacres, and genocide inflicted upon Palestinian children. In the course of this work, national and international news sources, agencies, international organizations, and members of the media have been consulted. Previous national and international works, theses, articles, and reports in this field have also been utilized. This report aims to raise awareness in order to help stop the genocide committed by Zionist Israel against Palestinian children, ensure that the perpetrators are punished, and contribute to efforts to reform the international system, which has failed to fulfill its functions.
