2023 Report on Genocide and Rights Violations Against Palestinian Children

This report has been prepared in order to identify, evaluate, raise legal awareness and share with the public the violations of children’s rights, which are within the scope of humanity and war crimes that Israel has systematically applied by using disproportionate and illegal force for years, and the persecution that turned into massacre and genocide after October 7, 2023. It is aimed to announce the pain, trauma, and victimization of Palestinian children who have been subjected to severe violations of rights and genocide in the international arena, to bring the violations of rights to the agenda, and to mobilize international mechanisms.

Despite international law and many international conventions signed between countries protecting children’s rights (Annex – Rights of the Child in International Legislation), innocent children still suffer the most physically, mentally and spiritually, especially in regions where conflicts are intense. On August 19, 1982, the United Nations General Assembly adopted June 4 as “The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression”, taking into account the situation of Palestinian children exposed to attacks by Israeli occupation forces.

Despite being a party to many international conventions such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, the Convention against Torture, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the occupying Israel continues its violations and continues to commit war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in Palestine before the eyes of the whole world.

The report was prepared by members of the aforementioned platform, lawyers working in the field of international law and sensitive to the rights violations experienced by the Palestinian people. During the study, national and international news sources, agencies, international organizations and media members were used. Also, previous works, theses, articles and reports in this field have been utilized. With this report, it is aimed to raise awareness to eliminate the violations of children’s rights in the region, to stop the genocide, to punish the criminals and to contribute to the solution.
